High throughput grinder
KoMo again creates an innovation in the mill market with a newly developed conical grinder. For the new hand grain mill, KoMo opted for conical grindstones because of the larger grinding surface than disc grinders. This provides more throughput, which is particularly in demand when milling with muscle power. The big difference to ordinary hand mills is the material the grindstones are made of: Corundum ceramic! It is the material that has become popular for electric grinders because of its positive properties. Corundum ceramic is extremely hard, resistant to foreign bodies such as small stones, durable to indestructible and porous. The porous surface of the grindstones grinds the grain easily and effectively, so that even maize can be ground.
Ground size and grinding performance
All types of grain such as wheat, rye, barley, oats, kamut, buckwheat etc. and also maize can be ground. Oil seeds are mixed with cereals and ground on the fine setting.Oil seeds (e.g. linseed, sesame) cannot be ground pure with the hand mill, not even on the coarse setting.
At 80 rpm, the KoMo hand mill can grind approx. 120 grams of cereals per minute on the coarse setting and approx. 50 g on the fine setting. Thanks to the ball-bearing crank, the effort required to turn it is kept within comfortable limits.
Design
It wouldn't be KoMo if the mill was designed like others. At KoMo, you can see the grindstones in the Gr. Chamber. The soft edges of the mill body make the mill friendly. The silk gloss finish looks noble. The turned hopper is evidence of quality craftsmanship. The included collecting container made of maple in combination with brushed stainless steel is practical.
Handling
The hand mill is maintenance-free when used properly. It cleans itself through the grinding process. However, if the grindstones need to be cleaned, this is no problem with KoMo's hand mill. It can be opened very easily by loosening the threaded rods with an Allen key.
Accessories electric drive
An electric motor can be flanged to this hand grain mill. In this way, a hand mill can be turned into a fully-fledged electric mill with an effective conical grinding mechanism made of corundum ceramic in just a few steps.
Other features
Fixed to the table with two steel clamps, the KoMo mill stands on its rubber feet like one, even during grinding. Despite the very small crank radius, only little force is needed when turning. Hopper lid included.
