Granite millstones are this hard:
A brief introduction to Salzburger grain mills:
MT5 model with stainless steel thread = MT5
Key Differences from Amadea:
Granite stone millstones
The granite, carefully selected by AGRISAN, has been created entirely naturally and offers properties that have been proven in Salzburger grain mill for more than 35 years:
Each stone pair is unique! The two grinding stones must be matched to one another with extreme accuracy. Without exception, each mill is milled several times as a sample, and only when the flour fineness meets the strict requirements of AGRISAN does it leave the factory as a real SALZBURGER GRAIN MILL.
The Grinder
The elastic support of the grinding stones brings 2 advantages:
Natural wooden hopper and grinding chamber
Like all MT mills, the grinding chamber of the MT5 is made of beech solid wood. In the grinding chamber, the wood of the mill is exposed to the greatest stress. With great force, the grindstone grinds the grain and hurls the flour to the outside of the grinding chamber wall. Abrasions from the grinding chamber wall can get into your flour – therefore, for Salzburger as a material there is no plastic but only full, natural, untreated and above all hard wood in question: beech. Natural beech wood is known to be antibacterial and antistatic. As a logical consequence, the flour discharge of the MT mill series is made of solid wood and encased in stainless steel.
The funnel is made with the same wood as the housing.
The coarse-fine setting as for MT 12 and MT 18
The coarse/fine adjustment determines the distance between the grinding stones. These should be exactly parallel to each other, regardless of the distance you choose. If this is not the case, the finest flour can no longer be produced.
The flour fineness is adjusted by turning the funnel. One Locking screw on the side holds the funnels in the required Position. This is also the essential difference to the MT 5, where the adjustment is made at the rotary selector.
A special feature compared to MT12 and MT18: The threaded parts are made of stainless steel.
The engine
The special industrial engine is built exclusively for "THE SALZBURG GRAIN MILL" and fulfills its task over the years.
